I know many people have an aversion to repeating clothes. Not me. On the contrary, I thoughtfully consider how much wear I'll get out of a piece of clothing before making the purchase. It's no wonder it takes me ages to buy something. (I take shopping very seriously. Hence, I shop alone. I hate feeling the pressure while someone is waiting.)
Anyway, I wore this skirt the beginning of the year in Singapore. Obvies, the weather here in Showering Scotland is nothing like Sunshine Singapore so I had to loose the lace top. Instead, I wore it with a thermal, black military jacket, gloves, tights, ankle booties and a scarf I bought for like 3 pounds from that Indian-y ethnic-y store in Nicholson Street that has been having a closing down sale for the past 4 years.

So, what's the point of this post?
I just really want to express my LOVE for this skirt. I am so seriously enamored with it that I wouldn't mind wearing it over and over again.
jacket: zara, top: uniqlo, boots: clarks, skirt: southaven (from singapore), bag: gucci, gloves: warehouse

Also, I just want to respond to anonymous who commented on 'Purple Sky':
hanna! dont be offended, but i remember you being chubby in hs! and now your so thin! how'd you lose the weight? :)
-Not offended at all! In fact, I talk about the fatness that was me quite often. (I think most of my friends are seriously sick of all the fat talk that comes out of my mouth). But yes, I struggled with my weight in my first and second years of high school. I was diagnosed with Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome and the condition made me predisposed to weight gain. So, being the control-freak that I am, I took matters into my own hands and actively fought the fat! I started eating oatmeal with ulam for every meal, only drank lemon water, didn't eat after 5pm and refused to consume any animal that walked on 4 legs (kakapikon when people used to ask me questions like : paano pag napilay yung baboy?). But yeah, I started losing weight so I wasn't so big by the time I hit third year.
Now I'm not as strict with myself. I eat other food groups and I'm no longer a semi-vegetarian (I've moved on from poultry and eat 4-legged beasts!). I try to go to the gym everyday and eat as sensibly as possible.
Omg, my fat talk has exceeded my fashion talk! I do get really fired up with the subject..maybe I should consider starting a fat blog. In the meantime, visit thissiswhyyourefat . If this doesn't make you want to give up on eating for the rest of your life, I don't know what will...

The skirt is so adorable
Love your skirt
lovely skirt! and you look amazing
at least it's not the usual black-black-black outfit :)
I think what's really unique about you is that you're petite and Asian. I mean, it's very usual to see Caucasians wearing layers and all these clothes. And when I see them do, I don't really find anything magical about it. :D Though some Asians also, like the Japanese, would wear the same coz their weather is suited for these clothes but then they'd still look Japanese (not that it's a bad thing), it's just that they don't stand out. You'd know they're Japanese. As for you Hanna, even if your physical features (like your singkit eyes) look Japanese-y in some ways, you don't look exactly Japanese. (I just read what I wrote and I don't really know why I kept on talking about Japanese hahaha) The point is, you're so unique :) You rock the clothes no matter how many times you repeat them!! And you look so cute in them :)
OK I hope I made sense hahaha
PS. I think I have the symptoms of that Poly-whatever syndrome. Do you cure it? :| What to do?
ANONYMOUS- Hahaha! you make me laugh :D
Thank you. Though I really wouldnt mind looking Japanese. I freakin love them. <3
With regards to your PCOS question, i think you should know that many people have cystic ovaries without ever knowing it. it's quite a common syndrome so you shouldn't worry. :)
the best advice i can give you is to see a ob-gyn. through an ultrasound, s/he will be able to assess your condition and take the necessary measures to alleviate your symptoms. as for me, the first thing that was prescribed to me were birth control pills (diane, yasmin) to alter my hormonal levels. Then, later she recommended me to switch to insulin regulating pills (metformin). --> these drugs *usually* have great side effects like better skin and weight loss.
If you want to avoid pharmaceutical drugs, you can opt to go homeopathic as well which is what I'm doing now. (I dont want to be dependent on pharma drugs) I take Agnus-Castus which you can buy in Healthy Options if youre living in Manila. Evening primrose also aids in the regulation o your hormones so I highly recommend that too.
Hope this helps. If you have anymore questions, you can email me :D
love the layering! :) and can't even imagine you fat.
So cute! Great outfit!

I like that you talk about your struggle with your weight. Talking about personal issues makes bloggers more human. I have been trying to lose the weight since I was 10 years old, and I am now 22. It is hard because for me it is genetic. I lose 20 pounds and gain back 40 just like that. It is encouraging to hear from someone who was able to fight the fat.
Too cute. I love the ruffles
Such a beautiful outfit!
I love that jacket... it's fab with the skirt.
If I had your outfit I too would re work and re wear it...nothing wrong with that...Love your blog have added you to my list...check mine..

OMG! LOVE that skirt! Reminds me so much of Prada! AND YOU GOT IT FROM SOUTHHAVEN?! SERIOUSLY?! I have a serious aversion to that shop! LOL! I have to pay more attention next time!
That photo is gorgeous! you look ADORABLE and your outfit is great! Pretty girl :)
I do the same thing with my clothes--I also prefer to shop alone for the same reasons--I hate making decisions to spend money when someone else is waiting for me to get out of the change room. i like to take my time and make sure im not just spending it out of impulse.
also.. i did the same thing with you for food! i lost all kinds of weight and people still dont believe me that i used to weigh 50 lbs heavier than i do now.. im about 118 lbs 5'8 and i used to be like 170! gross haha.
That skirt is cute!:D
that dress is beautiful! you look chic as always....
i looove the dress
That is a cuuute outfit!!!I love it!
xoxo
love that skirt and I wish I could live in Scotland!!
Your blog is beautiful!
i'm the same way. i can't afford to buy frivolously, so i imagine if i can wear a piece repeatedly and consider how versatile it is.
